Hey! I’m Emily.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I am a wife to my favorite person and a dog mom to two pit mixes. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and taught kindergarten in Kentucky for three years. My husband, Larry, played in the NFL for seven years with the Detroit Lions and the New Orleans Saints. When we moved to New Orleans in 2017, I decided to take a break from teaching to be with Larry full time. For the past few years I have gotten the chance to host friends, family, and teammates in our home in New Orleans. I learned how to keep plants alive, cook recipes for large groups of football boys, and pour into and love on those that matter most. As we step away from the football life and into our next chapter, I hope to continue to grow into the woman God desires me to be and make our home a place where everyone feels safe, loved, and celebrated.
A Few More Random Things About Me:
- I was born in Ohio but have lived in Texas, Kentucky, Michigan, and Louisiana.
- I have been on missions trips to Mexico, Honduras, and Russia.
- I have ADD and struggled in the classroom even into graduate school. I made the choice to stay off of medication but still continue to struggle to get things done during my day.
- I am a constant list maker but rarely completely finish them. They help me stay focused on the tasks ahead and keep me organized.
- I have no filter when I talk and typically say more than I should. Sometimes it can be a good thing and sometimes it can bite me in the butt.
- I love comedies and grew up on Saturday Night Live skits and movies like Tommy Boy. I may or may not be able to quote that entire movie.
