Larry and I are trying a healthier morning routine and switched from bigger breakfasts to green smoothies instead. It’s been three weeks so far and we’re loving it!
I posted the recipe yesterday in my Instagram stories and saved it in my recipe highlights but thought I would post it to my blog too just so it’s easy to find in every place.
Green Smoothie
Equipment
- Vitamix Blender (recommended)
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup 100% coconut water
- 1 handful spinach
- 2 heads romaine lettuce
- 1 whole apple – quartered seeds and all
- 1 whole pear – quartered seeds and all
- 1 banana
- 1 lemon – peeled
Optional Ingredients
- 2 stalks celery
- 1 tbsp almond butter not optional for me (I use it every time)
Instructions
- Put ingredients into blender in this order for best results.If you plan on making this often, I would recommend upgrading your blender to a Vitamix – otherwise you will be chewing small bits of greens.
