Don’t you hate it when you find a yummy recipe online and then click on the link and you have to scroll forever just to find the recipe? That’s the worst! While I definitely have stories behind some of my recipes, I really don’t for this one. All I will say is that there are a few food items I keep in my house on a regular basis and I love to come up with recipes using those ingredients. This is one of those recipes… ENJOY!
Cheesy Oven-Baked Breakfast Hashbrowns
I'm always looking for simple recipes using food items I always have around the house. This cheesy oven-baked hashbrown recipe has very few ingredients and requires very little prep. Perfect for a busy weekend morning or even a last minute holiday breakfast!
Ingredients
- 1 lb bag of frozen hashbrowns unseasoned
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- 1/2 yellow onion cut in thirds and sliced thin
- 3 tbsp butter melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tbsp olive oil (if hashbrowns are still frozen)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- In a large bowl, combine frozen hashbrowns, sliced onions, melted butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir to combine (It's okay if the melted butter gets cold again from frozen hashbrowns)
- Add cheese to hashbrown mixture and stir to combine again.
- Line baking sheet with foil (or a silicone baking liner for a guaranteed nonstick result)
- Pour hashbrown mixture onto lined baking sheet.
- Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 35-40 minutes.
Notes
*If hashbrowns have been thawed ahead of time, cut the baking time in half.
